My paintings are inspired by the vibrant colours and patterns in nature and food, blending graphic detail with the elegance of watercolour. I explore how taste, texture, and smell evoke memory and emotion, often drawing from personal experiences.
Currently, I’ve been working with the blotted line technique. I begin with a detailed drawing, transfer it onto tracing paper, and then print it with drawing ink onto watercolour paper. This slow, tactile process invites texture and unpredictability, adding depth and character to each piece while celebrating the beauty of imperfection and chance.
This year I will be exhibiting framed originals of Raspberry Palaver, Peaches and Cream, Wild Blackberries, Gherkins, Wisteria, Kippers for Tea, Asparagus and Curley Parsley.
There will also be a selection of unframed paintings and drawings available in the browser.
