Delighted to return to Watts Contemporary Gallery with 30 fellow members of The society of Graphic Design.

The exhibition explores how artists use their senses to interpret the world around and complements their main exhibition, Scented Visions:Smell in Art 1850-1915.

Wisteria as it is one of my favourite scents of spring and every year I love the anticipation of walking down the garden to see if it has started to bloom. When we first moved into the house about twenty years ago, it was quite small and was trained over a rickety metal arch. As it grew we built a pergola and now it has completely covered it. I love to sit underneath, drink its perfume and listen to the bees.

Delighted to be exhibiting my original watercolour and blotted line painting, Sweet Peas at The Gallery Holt, In Bloom Exhibition.

It’s the gallery’s first floral themed exhibition and I am honoured to be exhibiting alongside a host of incredible artists including members of the Society of botanical artists.

I especially love the old fashioned scented varieties and this painting was inspired by picking sweet peas in our garden and making use of a Peroni glass as a vase.

Wells. There are good public transport links from London and Hastings and ample car

parking. There’s plenty to see and do at The Amelia Scott, including a museum collection of

objects, a library and a café serving tasty food and drink. Come and visit the exhibition and

spend a day at The Amelia Scott.

The Society of Graphic Fine Art are celebrating their 100th open exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. The exhibition will feature over 300 pieces of artwork that explore many forms of drawing and I am delighted to have two pieces included.

Drawing has always been the beginning of my process. It helps me get to know the subject and forms the basis of my tonal understanding as my work develops into a blotted line print and watercolour painting.

South East Open Studios is an exciting event where artists open their studio’s to the public, it’s a very friendly and informal way to discover the inspiration and process behind their work.

This year I have been invited to exhibit at Elaine Gill’s studio, East Cliff Rd, Tunbridge Wells Kent, along with Gayle Shapton, Coo Coo Jewellery and DMC Ilustrations.

There will be refreshments and an opportunity to create a piece of jewellery with Jayne from CooCoo Jewellery.

Founded in 1919, the Society promotes fine drawing skills in both traditional and contemporary media. Today there are more than 130 elected members of the SGFA across the UK — professional artists from all areas of the art world who work in all drawing and printmaking media.

I am delighted to be exhibiting Bite as part of the society’s centenary year.
